Positions: C/WA
Team: Crusaders
About: I have previously played netball for clubs in Crosby and North Liverpool for in excess of 15 years. I began my netball journey at school as a GA but soon realised I had had an early growth spurt so transitioned to midcourt as everyone else rapidly got taller than me. I can do a few things on a netball court, but everyone knows jumping is not my strong point. When I’m not on the netball court, I’m on campus for my day job which is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology and Criminology at Manchester Metropolitan University specialising in crimes and harms committed by powerful persons, institutions, states, and corporations.
No one at netball knows me as, nor am I likely to respond to Sam or Samantha- if you want me, you’ve got to shout ‘Fletch!’
Why I joined Crusaders?
A combination of factors including fully committing to now living in the South of Liverpool and because, much like one of our coaches Ash and various players from the club, it is not unusual to find me playing 3 or 4 consecutive games a night. Therefore, rather than compete for extra games with the club and its members I thought hey! why not join them - it was only a matter of time !
